Professional Approach

Scott Sorum is owner, Managing Member and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Life Wise Planning Group, LLC., an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm.  He is also President of The Master Planning Group, Inc. of which he offers insurance products and services through.  Scott has been in the financial service profession helping clients, families, and business owners plan their financial future since 1997. Scott is a registered investment advisor and holds his life and health insurance license. 


Scott grew up in Minnesota and graduated cum laude in 1987 from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota with B.S. in Finance, and a minor in Economics.  Prior to entering the financial service profession, Scott’s former associations include working as an auditor for the Midwest region of Target Stores and serving as a golf professional for golf clubs in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Arizona.  He has also been on the board of directors for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and has donated his time for a local Arizona chapter for Crown Ministries, a national non-profit financial ministry teaching individuals and families’ financial principles.  He currently serves as a board member for a local non-profit ministry (Child’s Wish Ministries which provides education to children in the Philippines). 


Scott has been married to Lillian since 1993 and has 2 children, Emily (married to son-in-law Bahij with 3 grandkids) and a second daughter, Anika.  Scott is an avid cyclist and likes to log as many miles on his bike as he can each week to stay in shape.  He also enjoys hiking and still enjoys playing golf when time allows.

Had more than a total of three settled or pending complaints filed against them and/or a total of five settled, pending, dismissed or denied complaints with any regulatory authority or FSP's consumer complaint process. Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP's consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client's experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients.
