PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
James Speights
Professional Approach
Jim began his career in the financial services business in 1971 as an agent for the Prudential. Eventually he joined the Northwestern Mutual Life as a Special Agent and started to work in the area of more advanced markets such as Retirement and Estate Planning.
He went on to start his own company and evolved into financial planning in order to offer more value to those he served. What became apparent was a lack of both discussion but and a lack of understanding as to the challanges of specific risk retirees would face while drawing down on their portfolios during the crashes off 2002-2003 and 2008 and how retirement goals would be affected.
Seeing a deeper understanding he formed Speights Wealth Management with his son Michael, and held the Retirement Planning Workshop at Bryant University for a number of years. A comprehensive none product experience that was designed to help individuals and families deal with this problem. Eventually, he merged with Capital Wealth Management, LLC. He and his incredible assistant, Jen Lyons whom is his wonderful daughter work close with all of operations and Technical Partners along with clients Attorneys and CPA'S to create a truly exceptional experience.
Jim and his best friend Angie Speights have been together now just about 57 years. They are the blessed parents of five incredible children, eight Grand Children, soon to be nine, and two Great Grand Children. Family gatherings around the big table, reunions, and their strong faith keep them together.
The son of a migrant worker from Oklahoma, and a Mother who’s family immigrated from Italy, Jim served honorably in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, serving in Vietnam from September 1966 to September 1967.
In addition, he is A Life Member of the American Jujitsu Institute, Wahiawa Hawaii, and the Ordonez Kajukenbo Ohana, and is Cheif Instructor of the Three Waters River School of Self Defense in Narragansett, RI, Hawiian Kempo Jutsu and is a representative and instructor for Karate for Christ of Wickford, RI.
