Get to Know Me - Lynn Habrowski, CFP®, CFS®

In 2004 I became a financial planner with LPL Financial working with my clients to help crystallize their financial goals and develop comprehensive plans to work toward those goals.  Because of this “planning” driven approach, long-term client relationships are the cornerstone of my business.

15 years in engineering taught me that you need a defined plan and a specific process to handle the volatility of the market and to help reduce emotional decisions to pursue your financial goals. With this in mind, I use a repeatable process, with specific rules, to determine my client’s exposure to the market. This process, coupled with a clear understanding of my client’s investment risk tolerance, is used as the basis for each client’s investment allocation.

I have a crucial ability for taking complex topics and ideas and presenting them in a clear and concise format that helps my clients understand the current market environment and how they are going to address their financial goals.

Education

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Walsh College and went on to a successful career in software development and engineering. Ultimately financial planning, my original career goal, called me back and I completed the requirements for the Series 66, Series 7 (through LPL), and Life and Health to becoming a financial consultant with LPL Financial. I chose LPL Financial because they are one of the leading independent financial firms in the industry. 

In 2009 I received my Certified Fund Specialist® (CFS®) accreditation from the Institute of Business and Finance and in 2012 full-filled the requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, or CFP® professional. To earn the CFP® designation, I had to complete an approved comprehensive education program, pass a rigorous examination, and meet stringent educational and work experience requirements.

This award was issued on 05/01/2025 by Five Star Professional (FSP) for the time period 08/21/2024 through 02/28/2025. Fee paid for use of marketing materials. Self-completed questionnaire was used for rating. This rating is not related to the quality of the investment advice and based solely on the disclosed criteria. 3715 Detroit-area wealth managers were considered for the award; 289 (8 % of candidates) were named 2025 Five Star Wealth Managers. Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers. The award is based on 10 objective criteria. Eligibility criteria - required: 1. Credentialed as a registered investment adviser (RIA) or a registered investment adviser representative; 2. Actively licensed as a RIA or as a principal of a registered investment adviser firm for a minimum of 5 years; 3. Favorable regulatory and complaint history review (As defined by FSP, the wealth manager has not; A. Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; B. Had more than a total of three settled or pending complaints filed against them and/or a total of five settled, pending, dismissed or denied complaints with any regulatory authority or FSP's consumer complaint process. Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP's consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client's experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients. Evaluation criteria - considered: 6. One-year client retention rate; 7. Five-year client retention rate; 8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; 9. Number of client households served; 10. Education and professional designations. FSP does not evaluate quality of services provided to clients.
