Professional Approach

I was born and raised in Trenton, located in southeast Michigan in an area commonly referred to as "Downriver." Downriver is the unofficial name for a collection of 18 cities and townships in Wayne County, Michigan, south of Detroit along the western shore of the Detroit River. We enjoy beautiful sunsets and water activities on the Detroit River and Lake Erie. The area is supported by automotive, steel, health care, engineering, energy, and retail. It's a real diverse community and close-knit. They say that "six degrees of separation" is the idea that all people are six or fewer social connections away from each other. "Downriver" is probably three degrees of separation!

Our clients know that family is essential to me. I am truly blessed and value my time with my wife, Kelli, and our two children, Adrianna (24) and Isaac (22). We are in the pre-empty nesting stage of life. Isaac is working full-time as a team-lead at an automotive supply company and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Management. Adrianna has a bachelor's degree in Biology and recently started working at TL Financial Group. This is an exciting phase in her life, along with mine, to work side by side.


This new phase in life has allowed us to travel a bit more and try different activities. We purchased an Airstream camper a few years ago and really enjoy visiting some great locations with our two dogs, Charlie and Abby. I enjoy golfing and gardening in my free time. I enjoy making my own hot and tomato sauce from my garden. There is something so satisfying about participating and watching the process from beginning to end. I have some blueberry bushes and peach and apple trees. I love watching my friends and family pull off a fresh apple or pick a handful of blueberries to enjoy.


I am an active member at FSI (Financial Services Institute), a Washington, DC-based organization that functions to look out for the benefits of average Main Street investors like our clients. I was privileged to sit on the board of directors from 2014 to 2018 and help shape policy and advocate for our clients and main street investors.


I founded TL Financial Group in 2002 to educate individuals and families on how to achieve their most important financial goals. Looking out for our client's best interest has been at the heart of "what and why" we do what we do. As a comprehensive financial planning firm, we provide customized plans to help meet our client's needs—whatever they may be. We believe our role is to be your fiduciary asset manager that will be there to support you through life's challenges and transitions.
