Professional Approach

Don has been in the financial industry since 1991.  During that time, he has developed long-term relationships with his clients by emphasizing a comprehensive apporach to financial planning that focuses on client service. Don helps his clients design financial plans that include estate planning, tax planning, and financial independence planning/retirement planning. 

Don earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Rockhurst University, and his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Kansas. He has also earned the professional certification of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) through his studies at the College of Financial Planning.  Don currently holds the Series 7, 24, 53, 63, and 65 registrations through LPL Financial and is also licensed in Life and Health Insurance.

As an Investment Advisor Representative, Don specializes in developing and implementing retirement and estate plans for private clients.  He incorporates advanced tax planning techniques to help minimize income and estate taxes. He also utilizes conservative asset allocation models in order to focus on capital preservation and multi-generational wealth management.

Don is a firm believer in the growth and development of children through education and sports. For 8 years, Don was an elected member of a local Board of Education and was also an elected member of the Executive Board for the Kansas State High School Activities Association.

Credentialed as a registered investment adviser (RIA) or a registered investment adviser representative; 2. Actively licensed as a RIA or as a principal of a registered investment adviser firm for a minimum of 5 years; 3. Favorable regulatory and complaint history review (As defined by FSP, the wealth manager has not; A. Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; B. Had more than a total of three settled or pending complaints filed against them and/or a total of five settled, pending, dismissed or denied complaints with any regulatory authority or FSP’s consumer complaint process. Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP’s consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client’s experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients. Evaluation criteria – considered: 6. One-year client retention rate; 7. Five-year client retention rate; 8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; 9.
