Dr. Ara Minassian grew up in Highland Village, Texas from the age of 5. As a youth, he had a passion for his Church, Education, Scouting & Karate. Always finishing what he started, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout & a Black Belt. Ara instructed Karate while in high school & college, in addition to other jobs. To this day, Dr. Ara Minassian is a leader in the Church, Scouting & Real Estate.
Ara graduated from University in 1996 & Medical School with a degree as MD Surgeon in 2001. After graduation, he took time off to search for what he was missing, a family of his own. Medicine takes a lot out of you. You miss out a lot on family. Ara loved medicine, but needed to do something else to be closer to his wife Patil & his boys, Avedis & Zaven. Having invested in Real Estate after graduating Medical School and helping his parents with their investments, flipping homes, managing properties Ara became a Realtor in 2006. He started out doing mostly Commercial Real Estate but had to pivot to an emphasis in Residential due to the crash of 2008. He became a & created Star Realty in 2010. Ara has always endeavored to serve others & had a mortgage license for several years until he had to give it up to focus on being a Broker . Ara works on Developments, Commercial, Residential, Investment, Rental markets. He has helped design & implement various developments valued in the $10's of Millions & has more to come.
Currently, Ara is one of the top 5% of Realtors in Denton County. Awarded 5 Star Professional for 10 years along with many other accolades. He serves his local board on the MLS Committee. Ara was appointed onto Double Oak P&Z. Ara was then elected 8 years as Town Councilman, during which he served as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, Mayor Pro Tem, & Acting Mayor of the Town of Double Oak. He also joined the Lewisville ISD Strategic Design Committee for several years. They reformed teaching methods, buildings & furnishings. They redesigned the future of learning in the district to be more relevant & empowering to the students, teachers, & community.
Ara & his wife Patil have taken on several philanthropic endeavors. Giving their time, talent, & treasure. Ara says, “There are so many of us that truly give. It's important to recognize this and support those who give with a clean heart.” He means to say, give for the sake of giving & for those in need, not for your own gain.
Ara’s future projects aim to tackle the lack of quality affordable housing. He is a big proponent in every American’s right to Home Ownership. He is working with partners to try & make this dream come true for as many as possible. Ara’s son, Avedis, returning from service in the Air Force, also an Eagle Scout, is now at his side to help push these opportunities to the next level. They will remind people that REALTORS are Advocates of the people so everyone has a chance to go from 1st time buyer to seasoned homeowners.
