Growing Up In Business
Matt was born and raised on a small farm near Rochelle, IL where he and his four older siblings learned the value of hard work, ambition, and enthusiasm in doing all things from their entrepreneurial parents who owned and operated a custom home construction and marketing business. This provided Matt with an interest in architecture and construction at a very early age as he spent much of his time on his father's job sites and the local lumber yards. A fire was lit when Matt's father said that he was too much of a salesman type to worry about pounding nails or digging holes, and focus on marketing and selling those properties and farms. So from then on Matt decided to concentrate his energy on the sales and marketing end of his business endeavors.
Construction
In 2008 during the economic downturn Matt began his sales career for his father's excavating / construction company. Despite the hard economic time he was able to create enough business to warrant purchasing half of the company in 2009 and expand his responsibilities to handling all of the office duties and project management as well. In the period from 2009-2014 the company saw a 400% increase in sales and revenue. At the peak of their financial success Matt decided to get back to his roots and focus on his auctioneering and new real estate business.
Auctioneering
In June 2008 Matt graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, IA where he focused on selling Real Estate, Estates/Personal Property, and Automobiles/Heavy Equipment at auction. Immediately upon completion he became licensed and incorporated in the state of Illinois and has enjoyed much success in the business over the past 10 years and is excited to incorporate full time real estate with Weichert Realtors, Signature Professionals into this business.
