My philosophy is simple: Clients come first. Staying in constant communication, keeping fully informed throughout the entire buying and/or selling process, providing an amazing experience. I began my real estate career when I was 8 years old. Okay, not exactly. My mother is a Realtor, and my step-father was a builder, so I grew up helping people with their homes. I began my first job in real estate in 1989 when I worked as a personal assistant to my mother, Nyla Martens, at J.P. Weigand in Wichita. In 1994 I obtained my Kansas Real Estate License and began working at Plaza Real Estate, Inc. in Wichita.
In 1997 I moved to the Kansas City Metro area. Since then I have continued building my knowledge about real estate by attending regular education classes and state and national Realtor conventions. In 2005 I received my Missouri Real Estate License and I also became an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) to provide home staging advice to Sellers to help their homes sell faster. In 2008 I received my Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designation to provide Buyers special representation in their home purchase. In 2009 I was selected by the Kansas Association of Realtors (KAR) to participate in the “Right Track: Leadership in Motion” program, and I qualified as a member of the KAR Honor Society. Since 2009 I have served on many committees that benefit Realtors and Home owners alike at our local Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors (KCRAR) and our state Kansas Association of Realtors.
My Personal Life:
I am married to Jason West, he is an insurance broker with Wheat State insurance and also a licensed Realtor. I have 3 children, a daughter and two sons, and one granddaughter. I have three dogs, a rescue Lab-mix, a rescue bichon/lhasa apso and an Australian Shepherd. Besides real estate and my family, I also have another passion, Jazzercise. I have been a Jazzercise instructor since 2005. In my spare time I enjoy going to live music concerts and hula hooping!
