Timothy Hyland graduated Cum Laude in 1997 from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (UT) receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration and majoring in Accounting.  While at UT, Tim was a member of Delta Sigma Pi national professional business fraternity, as well as playing in the percussion section of the “Pride of the Southland” marching band.


WORK EXPERIENCE

Tim began his career in the financial services profession in 2001. In 2002, he joined Professional Economic Growth Group in Edison where he has since attained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from Fairleigh Dickinson University's Financial Planning Program. 

After the credit crisis of 2007, Tim created Stone Hill Financial in order to help individuals and small business owners in Hunterdon County reorganize their long-term financial goals and help them reach those goals in a more cost effective and tax efficient way.  In addition, Tim is an Investment Advisor Representative and Registered Representative of his broker-dealer, Hornor, Townsend & Kent, Inc.

Prior to his financial services career, Tim was a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in New York City.  In May 1999, Tim passed the CPA exam.  While at PwC, Tim performed audits on clients within various industries, including insurance companies, banks, and investment advisors.  In addition, he consulted with registered representatives of client companies to ensure compliance with the National Association of Securities Dealers and the Securities and Exchange Commission.  Some of his clients included New York Life, State Farm, MacKay Shields Financial Corporation, AXA-Equitable, Prudential, and Barclay's Capital.

Tim has 2 amazing children that make him smile every day and lives in Hunterdon County, NJ.

Credentialed as a registered investment adviser (RIA) or a registered investment adviser representative; 2. Actively licensed as a RIA or as a principal of a registered investment adviser firm for a minimum of 5 years; 3. Favorable regulatory and complaint history review (As defined by FSP, the wealth manager has not; A. Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; B. Had more than a total of three settled or pending complaints filed against them and/or a total of five settled, pending, dismissed or denied complaints with any regulatory authority or FSP's consumer complaint process. Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP's consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client's experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients.
