My wife and I wanted to contact you to let you know how wonderful our experience has been with Long & Foster. We own a small home in Takoma Park ehich has quickly become too small now that our third child has joined us. For well over a year now, we[‘ve] been looking for the perfect house for our growing family. As we started to get more serious in our searching, Dan Metcalf took on our cause as his own. He worked tirelessly to help us in our search -- and to understand our hopes and needs (and our quirky personalities). He left no stone unturned, first in Takoma Park and then in broad areas of Bethesda as we expanded our search. He was always immediately available to show us homes, and to alert us to new listings. Often my three young children would be along and quickly started to feel as if Dan was almost a part of the family. I was particularly impressed that he understood my early reluctance to sign a long term buyer-broker agreement and did not at all try to pressure us. He was low pressure at the right times, and then when we needed to move fast -- he finessed the situation perfectly to encour- age us to move at a pace necessary in the current market. Ultimately, he helped to find a home that we love - and to find it before it was even formally listed. When Dan’s schedule was booked for the day we were considering looking at the house. rather than postponing the meeting and risking our chances to get the house before the interest spread -- Dan sacrificed his own interests for ours. Likely making a decision that would reduce his commission, Dan referred us to another agent in his office to view the house and then write up the offer that same day. Jimmy Ellis took the hand off, and the transition was seamless. Dan had provided Jimmy with absolutely all the information he could possi- bly need to write up the offer - and to know us as people. As with Dan, the relationship with Jimmy has been excellent from the start. He provided us with great advice as we both viewed the house and considered our options in the offer. He worked with our three young children in the same room (including a fussy infant) to get the offer completed very quickly - to deliver it to the selling agent immediately - and then he drove to our home in Takoma Park late at night to finalize once the offer was accepted. We now have a contract on a great home, at a great price - and workig with Dan and Jimmy has made this huge decision in our lives an absolutely wonderful experience.
