About Shari
Spend a few moments with local businesswoman, Shari Evans, and you will notice it right away. She just seems to emanate a distinctive vibe, a unique energy. You can see it in the twinkle in her eyes as she is completely in the here and now. She is taking everything in, letting the nuances of her surroundings soak in, enjoying the beauty of the moment.
Whether she ’s quietly gliding through Puget Sound on a kayak, hiking through the verdant woods, strategically dabbing a striking accent color to her new painting, or going over a contract with a client, she’s 100% present. Her friends and acquaintances would also add that she’s 100% fund to be around. People also appreciate her ability to be honest, upfront and genuine.
Born in California, Shari relocated to Washington in the early 80’s. Even as a young teen, she knew she had found the perfect place to live. Because she has such a caring side (an early dream was to be a teacher to the deaf), Sharie took a job as a caretaker for the developmentally disabled. Shari married, and then her two children became the focus in her life. She decided to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool them. She even co-founded the Homeschool Resource Center to assist other home schooling parents. “I really enjoyed that period in my life,” Shari says. “I was lucky to have spent so much time with my kids during their formative years.”
It was about this time that Shari also got her real estate license as a way to have flexible hours so she could earn a living and still homeschool her kids. She began working with the top agent who mentored her and gave her opportunities to learn the craft. True to her nature, Shari immersed herself in real estate and it wasn’t long before she became a top agent herself. As her kids grew and her home schooling wound down, she made the leap to become a full time agent and has become a perennial top 5 agent for her company with other agents seeking her advice and insights to the industry.
When this leading agent isn’t focused on her client’s real estate goals, she relaxes with Taichi, playing her keyboard, or painting (her medium of choice is acrylic). “I’m not concerned if I’m a great artist or not’ she explains, “it’s called practice for a reason. I always strive to get better.”
Kayaking on Puget Sound, hiking and camping are faves, and she has taken up fishing. “I love this area, when I look up from my smart phone I always have a sense of wonderment of the lush beauty all around us!”
Because she loves people and treats her clients with dignity and respect, the vast majority of her clients become friends for life. What makes Shari so popular with her clients (most of her business is referrals from happy clients and repeat business) is her unique approach to her work, which she describes as educational and consultative.
Shari believes her most import role as an agent is to be an educator. “I strive to make the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible. The way I do that is to educate my clients, I want them to finish the transaction as savvy home buyers or sellers. I want them to know more about the process than when they started.” Shari’s goal is to make them feel empowered with their newfound knowledge and feel confident and relaxed making their decisions with her by their side.
