At Hance Financial we assist our clients in building and protecting wealth by listening to their hopes, dreams and fears. With each client relationship we try to do the next right thing in helping clients achieve their financial goals.
For over twenty years we have been helping our clients build and protect their financial lives. Our clients build portfolios with us because of the systematic financial planning methods we have developed. We have gone through two major market corrections; these corrections have given us valuable insight into how investors behave under stress. As a result, we have learned how to allocate portfolios to help provide protection on the downside, yet participate on the upside.
Every Client is different and deserves a special plan to help them reach their financial goals. Here are the steps that are used with each client;
1. Determine an effective meeting place where we can discuss financial matters confidentially.
2. Utilize a set of data gathering forms to collect information about your current financial situation.
3. Discuss your financial goals, fears, hopes and dreams.
4. Analyze your financial information and create a financial model.
5. Develop a cash flow analysis.
6. Create strategies to help you achieve your goals.
7. Implement these strategies.
8. Review the implemented strategies for effectiveness. Implementation is a crucial step and it is where a financial plan can fall apart. Therefore we may need to meet several times during the year to review the effectiveness of our strategies. Adjustments are normal, and can be expected.
9. Types of investment strategies; all clients and their financial objectives are different, however, we will generally use any or a combination of fee based managed accounts, mutual funds, alternative investments, life insurance, and variable annuities. These strategies are constantly under review for effectiveness.

Five Star Professional, as a third party research firm, identified pre-qualified award candidates based on industry data and contacted all identified broker dealers, Registered Investment Advisor firms and FINRA-registered representatives in the Twin Cities area (includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, Sherburne, Washington and Wright counties in the state of Minnesota; and Pierce and St. Croix counties in the state of Wisconsin) to gather wealth manager nominations. Self nominations were not accepted.
Award candidates were then evaluated against 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria associated with wealth managers who provide quality services to their clients such as client retention rates, client assets administered, firm review and a favorable regulatory and complaint history. Five Star Professional finalized the list of 2012 Five Star Wealth Managers to be no more than 7% of the approximately 16,500 wealth managers in the area. 1,256 award candidates in the Twin Cities area were considered for the award, of which 624 were named 2012 Five Star Wealth Managers.
• Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers.
• The Five Star award is not indicative of the wealth manager's future performance.
• Wealth managers may or may not use discretion in their practice and therefore may not manage their client's assets.
