Jim Stillman, in the financial services industry for more than 13 years, believes that when it comes to proper planning it’s not what you make, but what you keep. Five Star Professional, as a third-party research firm, administered a survey, by mail and phone, to 1 in 4 high-net-worth households (over 56,000 consumers) and registered financial services representatives (over 4,500 financial services professionals) to evaluate the approximately 8,500 wealth managers in the Charlotte area (includes Cabarrus, Gaston, Union, Lincoln and Mecklenburg counties in the state of North Carolina). The evaluation was based on nine criteria, including customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post sale service, quality of recommendations, and overall satisfaction. After review by a panel of local industry experts and a review of regulatory history, Five Star Professional determined the final list of 2011 Five Star Wealth Managers scoring highest in overall satisfaction and representing less than 7% of the wealth managers in the Charlotte area.
