The vision in 1990 was to build a financial firm by serving others. The Five Star Wealth Manager award, for the second year, is a testimony to that heritage and speaks to the accomplishment thereof. My sincere gratitude goes to all that have made this award possible. Thank you! It is truly my privilege to serve you, said Andrew A. Agemy, founder and principal of Agemy Financial Strategies.
Prior to becoming a financial advisor, Mr. Agemy was in the ministry. He sees himself as the financial pastor of his clients, shepherding and helping them to be good stewards of their wealth. He specializes in working almost exclusively with pre-retirees and retirees. He offers them the universe of conservative income-generating investments and strategies, rather than just the bank and stock market, thereby reducing risk without sacrificing return. As Agemy said, Our focus is on serving our clients with an educational process and listening with our hearts, not just our ears. This empowers our clients to make, and realize, their own solid financial decisions.

Five Star Professional, as a third-party research firm, administered a survey, by mail and phone, to 1 in 4 high-net-worth households (over 112,000 households) and registered financial services representatives (over 16,500 financial services professionals) to evaluate the approximately 28,000 wealth managers in Connecticut (includes Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland, and Windham counties in the state of Connecticut). The evaluation was based on nine criteria, including customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post sale service, quality of recommendations, and overall satisfaction. After review by a panel of local industry experts and a review of regulatory history, Five Star Professional determined the final list of 2011 Five Star Wealth Managers scoring highest in overall satisfaction and representing less than 7% of the wealth managers in Connecticut.
Five Star Wealth Managers do not pay a fee to be included in the research or the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers.
Only wealth managers with more than five years of experience in the financial services industry are considered.
The overall evaluation score of a wealth manager reflects an average of all respondents and may not be representative of any one client's experience.
The Five Star award is not indicative of the wealth manager's future performance.
Wealth managers may or may not use discretion in their practice and therefore may not manage their client's assets.
The inclusion of a wealth manager on the Five Star Wealth Manager list should not be construed as an endorsement of the wealth manager by Five Star Professional or Connecticut Magazine.
Please keep in mind that working with a Five Star Wealth Manager is no guarantee as to the future investment success nor is there any guarantee that the selected wealth managers will be awarded this accomplishment in the future.
